Terms and conditions
Last updated: 6 November 2026
The rules that apply to Taxi Dome’s transport services and to the use of this website. Terms stated in the confirmation of an individual ride take precedence over these.
Draft, pending final legal review.
01Provider and scope
The service is provided by Taxi Dome di Chiefari, Domenico Chiefari, Via Rinaldo Simen 18, 6600 Locarno, Switzerland (info@taxidome.ch, +41 79 624 94 60).
These terms apply to private transfers, airport transfers, hotel and business rides, rides in the Locarno region, and to the use of the website.
02Requests and bookings
The form, a phone call, an email or a WhatsApp message is a request, not yet a booking. The ride is booked once Taxi Dome confirms it by phone or in writing, stating date, time, pickup point and price. A request received by phone, in particular for a transfer, may then be confirmed in writing by WhatsApp or email, stating the price and applicable terms: in that case the ride is booked with this written confirmation. If a ride has already been confirmed by phone, the later WhatsApp message or email only summarises what was agreed; any change requires the customer’s agreement. For transfers, Taxi Dome normally sends a written summary with the route, times, price and agreed terms.
The service is by advance booking and subject to availability: Taxi Dome does not guarantee a 24-hour service.
Customers are responsible for the accuracy of the details they provide, in particular addresses, times, number of passengers, luggage and flight or train number. For journeys abroad every passenger carries a valid identity document.
03Prices
- Prices are in Swiss francs (CHF), per vehicle and per single journey, not per person.
- The price list on the Fares page sets out fixed prices for the routes and departure points listed. Other routes receive a tailored quote; local taxi rides are charged by the meter.
- Fixed list prices apply to standard daytime transfers from Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays. For night transfers and transfers on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, the price is agreed with a tailored quote before confirmation.
- The price stated in the confirmation is fixed and binding on both parties. Any change to the fares applies only to new bookings.
- Prices for the standard transfer include the mandatory components for the route. Extra stops, detours, changes of destination, extended parking, ferries and other exceptional costs may be charged separately, after informing the customer.
- Return journeys, including airport transfers, are tailored services: the overall price, any waiting time and the terms are agreed individually before confirmation and set out in the written summary, together with the price of each leg. The same applies to Business & Hotel services and to agreements with business partners. There are no automatic discounts, fixed percentages for the return or reduced terms that apply to everyone. WEF and major events are quoted separately.
04Waiting time
Bookings at an agreed price include waiting time:
- Airport transfers: 60 minutes of waiting from the actual landing are included. Taxi Dome checks the status of the flight provided by the customer, so the service can be organised taking any delays and changes to the arrival time into account. A flight delay is not automatically treated as a no-show.
- Other transfers: 10 minutes of waiting from the agreed time are included, unless otherwise agreed.
- Extra waiting: CHF 80 per hour, charged pro rata by the minute. Waiting beyond the included time is possible if compatible with other bookings.
For immediate metered rides, waiting time is charged at the meter rate.
05Payment
The price is due for the confirmed ride. The accepted payment methods are stated in the confirmation. For hotels, businesses and business partners, payment and invoicing arrangements are agreed individually.
When confirming the booking, Taxi Dome may ask for a deposit of 20% of the agreed price. The deposit is deducted from the final price. If the cancellation is free of charge, it is refunded in full; if a cancellation fee applies or in the event of a no-show, it is offset against the amount due, and any balance in the customer’s favour is refunded.
06Changes and cancellations
Changes to time, route or number of passengers should be notified as early as possible and apply once Taxi Dome confirms them. A significant change may affect the price.
A confirmed ride can be cancelled at any time by phone, WhatsApp or email. What counts is when Taxi Dome receives the notice, relative to the agreed time:
Airport transfers, private transfers and long-distance journeys
At least 24 hours before: free cancellation.
Less than 24 but at least 12 hours before: 50% of the agreed price.
Less than 12 hours before: up to 100% of the agreed price.
No-show: up to 100% of the agreed price.
Pre-booked local metered rides
Free cancellation up to 60 minutes before the agreed time.
For a late cancellation or a no-show, an amount in proportion to the costs incurred may be charged, especially if the vehicle has already been sent.
Return trips: if the customer cancels only one of the two legs, the rules above apply to the cancelled leg, based on its time; the other leg remains confirmed at the price stated for it in the written summary.
These charges apply within the limits permitted by Swiss law. If the passenger does not show up by the end of the included waiting time (section 4), Taxi Dome may cancel the service; before doing so, Taxi Dome tries to contact the passenger and takes documented delays into account, for example of a flight or train. A flight delay is not automatically treated as a no-show.
For special or particularly demanding services, such as very long journeys, major events or services lasting several hours, specific terms may be agreed in the written booking confirmation.
If Taxi Dome has to cancel a confirmed ride, the customer pays nothing and any amounts already paid, including any deposit, are refunded in full.
07Passengers, luggage and children
- Taxi Dome has two vehicles and three categories: Mercedes E-Class – Standard, for 1–4 passengers; Mercedes V-Class Extra Long – Comfort, for 1–4 passengers, on specific request and subject to availability; Mercedes V-Class Extra Long – Groups, for 5–7 passengers. The V-Class Extra Long is available from 15 November 2026. The number of people and pieces of luggage must match what was communicated.
- On agreed-price transfers with the V-Class Extra Long: a particularly spacious boot, whose actual capacity depends on the size of the luggage. Up to five ordinary pieces of luggage are included. Additional or particularly bulky luggage must be notified and assessed before confirmation. The same applies to skis, bikes and other equipment. The CHF 2 supplement per piece of luggage applies only to metered rides.
- For children, tell us their age and number: suitable child seats are provided on request, as required by law.
- No smoking in the vehicle. Pets only by prior arrangement.
- All passengers must wear a seat belt.
08Delays and force majeure
Taxi Dome plans every ride with a sensible margin. It is not liable for delays caused by traffic, accidents, weather, road closures, border checks or other events beyond its control. For flights and trains we recommend allowing enough time.
09Liability and lost property
Taxi Dome is liable in accordance with the legal provisions applicable to passenger transport. In the event of damage to the vehicle or exceptional soiling, such as vomit, spilled liquids, scratches or damage to the interior, the actual and documented costs of cleaning, restoration or repair may be charged to the person responsible. Items left in the vehicle are kept and returned on request.
